Gary Dennis: Committed to Education, Dedicated to Service

Gary Dennis, a proud veteran, local businessman, and long-standing advocate for the Richland Two community, is not just talking about change he’s actively making a difference. Running for the Richland Two School Board, Gary has already demonstrated his hands-on approach to improving the lives of students and educators. Recently, Gary dedicated over four days of his time to help restore one of the most vital learning spaces in our schools the library.

As a school board candidate, Gary understands the importance of a well-stocked, organized library for fostering a love of reading and learning in students. When the opportunity arose to volunteer, helping place thousands of books back on the shelves, he didn’t hesitate. Gary knew that for many students, the library is a haven of knowledge, creativity, and imagination a place where their educational journeys often begin.

His effort wasn’t a photo-op; it was about ensuring that students could return to a fully functioning library as quickly as possible. After spending hours carefully sorting, shelving, and organizing books, Gary saw the impact that something as simple as access to a library can have on a child's academic growth. With his wife, Nikki, being a Reading Interventionist, Gary knows firsthand how essential literacy is in shaping a student’s future success. 

Gary’s dedication to volunteering is just one example of the leadership he brings to the table. He’s not content to sit on the sidelines or delegate tasks; he steps in when his community needs him, whether it's helping students succeed in the classroom, supporting youth through sports leagues, or shaping the future of Richland County as a Vice Chair of the Planning Commission.

For Gary Dennis, running for the Richland Two School Board isn’t about a title it’s about service, commitment, and creating an environment where every child has the resources they need to succeed. His hands-on work in the library is just a glimpse of the action-oriented leadership he will bring if elected.
